HELP FOR CONTRIBUTORS

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to get started, submit your footage and understand how the contributor program works.

Getting started

Who can become a contributor?

You must be at least 18, verify your email, and own the footage or have documented authority to license it for commercial use. Read the current agreements before registering.

How do I create an account?

Choose Register Now, enter your details, complete human verification, and accept the required terms. Follow the verification link sent to your email before signing in.

Can I read the agreements before registering?

Yes. The Submission Terms & Earnings Rules, Contributor Footage Licence Agreement, and Privacy Policy are public. Links to all three are provided below.

Where do I submit a clip?

After signing in, choose Submit Clip. Add the recording details, confirm your rights and the required agreements, and upload your original video.

Videos and uploads

What kinds of footage are you looking for?

Pets and wildlife, funny everyday surprises, dashcam and road moments, video doorbell and home security recordings, action-camera adventures, weather, reunions, sports, skills, and satisfying moments can all be considered. The moment matters more than the camera.

Can I submit dashcam, Ring, GoPro, or drone footage?

Yes, if you own the recording or have documented commercial licensing authority. Tell us what happened and disclose relevant people, music, location restrictions, or other rights that need review. Never put yourself or others at risk to capture a clip.

What file types and sizes can I upload?

The uploader accepts MP4, MOV, and WebM videos, up to 2 GB per file. Use the best-quality original available and keep a copy of your source recording.

Can I submit a video that is already on social media?

Yes, if it is your footage or you have the required licensing authority. Include the original file and information about earlier publication or existing restrictions. Finding, downloading, reposting, or crediting someone else’s video does not give you permission to submit it.

What should I include with my clip?

Give it a clear title and description, explain when and where it was recorded, and accurately describe your ownership or licensing authority. Include relevant permissions, existing licences, and any important context.

What if my upload fails?

Check the file type, size, internet connection, and whether your session has expired. Sign in again if needed and retry through Submit Clip. If the problem continues, email support with a brief description of the issue; never include your password.

Can I submit AI-generated or heavily altered footage?

Disclose every AI-generated, reconstructed, or significantly altered element. Synthetic material must not be presented as a real filmed event and requires separate review. It does not automatically qualify for the filmed-original earnings program.

Ownership and permissions

Do I keep the copyright to my video?

Yes. You keep your copyright and grant the rights described in the Contributor Footage Licence Agreement. Read that agreement for the full licence scope and conditions.

Can I submit footage from a shared camera or someone else’s camera?

Only if you own the recording or can document authority to grant the required commercial rights. Access to a shared camera, permission to view a recording, or crediting its owner is not enough by itself.

What about music, other people, or private locations in my clip?

Disclose them. Music, background television, artwork, identifiable people, children, and location restrictions may require additional permissions. DCC may request supporting evidence before selecting footage.

What if I have already licensed the clip to another company?

Disclose the existing agreement and any exclusivity or restrictions. Do not promise rights you cannot grant. DCC will need to review whether your existing commitments allow participation.

Screening and review

What happens after I upload?

Files are kept private during security screening and review. Our team checks integrity, ownership, authenticity, rights, and editorial suitability before selecting footage.

Does uploading guarantee my clip will be featured?

No. Receipt, security clearance, or review does not guarantee selection, publication, monetization, or payment.

How long does review take?

There is no guaranteed review time. It depends on the footage, available context, rights evidence, and editorial needs. Check your dashboard and verified email for updates or requests.

How can I check the status of my clip?

Sign in and open My Clips to view your submissions. Monitor your verified email for any requests for more information.

Earnings and payments

How can a clip earn money?

An eligible original selected for use in a qualifying monetized production may earn a share of actual qualifying revenue. The published terms define the revenue calculation, contribution weighting, verified contributor tier, limits, and other conditions.

Are earnings guaranteed?

No. A submission may earn nothing. Selection, publication, views, and dashboard estimates do not guarantee finalized earnings or payment.

What are the earning caps and eligibility window?

The published program has a five-year earning window per eligible original clip and tier-adjusted cumulative caps, from CAD $5,000 at Scout to CAD $10,000 at Legend. The full terms explain when the period starts and how tier changes and prior earnings affect the remaining cap.

Are estimated dashboard earnings ready to be paid?

Not necessarily. Estimates can change. Payment depends on finalized qualifying receipts, reconciliation, required identity and tax checks, rights eligibility, and the published payment conditions.

Are automatic monthly payments active?

Automatic monthly payout transfers are not currently active. Dashboard estimates and target dates are not payment promises. Contributors do not need to make withdrawal requests; any future activation will remain subject to the applicable terms and verification requirements.

Account and website help

I did not receive my verification email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder and confirm that you entered the correct address. Use Resend Verification to request a fresh link. If delivery still fails, contact support without sharing your password or verification token.

How do I reset my password?

Use Forgot Password on the sign-in page and follow the instructions sent to your email. For security, the site uses a generic response and does not reveal whether an address has an account.

How do I protect my account?

Use a strong, unique password, keep access to your email secure, and never share passwords or verification links. If you suspect unauthorized activity, follow the account-security guidance in your messages and contact support.

How do I change the theme or language?

The compact controls at the top right let you choose Light or Dark and a language. Public information pages open in Google Translate when you choose another language. Use your browser’s Translate page option for secure account pages. The original DCC pages start in English.

How do I contact support or report a rights concern?

Email contact@dailyclipcountdown.com with the relevant clip or account details and a clear explanation. For a rights complaint, include the affected material and evidence of your authority. Do not send passwords, payment details, or authentication tokens.
